The Roatan Highlights Island Tour and West Bay Beach is a great way to see many of Roatan’s highlights in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Our professional English-speaking guides will show you the beauty and uniqueness of their Island home.
This is a great tour for people that want to see some incredible sites of this island and spend time on one of the most beautiful beaches in Roatan, on West Bay Beach.
The tour initially heads to through the small bustling town of Coxen Hole, and then on to French Harbour, an authentic Caribbean fishing village surrounded by water with fishing boats unloading their catch at the busy wharf.
At French Cay nearby, you will have the option to visit the world’s only natural Iguana Farm. Here you can feed and touch the huge green Iguanas. This is a favorite stop for children and adults alike and an incredible photo opportunity. Nearby is the amazing Monkey and Sloth Sanctuary that is a true island highlight, where you can interact with cheeky spider and capuchin monkeys plus stunning tropical birds and sloths (optional, private tours only)
Parrot Tree plantation is your next stop, coffee house, a great marina, and beautiful views. The tour then heads to the west side of the Island, via small local communities like Sandy Bay, and Anthonys Key. Here, Private Tours has an optional stop at Carambola Gardens, a beautiful botanical garden displaying the colorful flowers, fruit trees, and lush vegetation of the region.
The next destination is West End Village. This is a quiet sleepy seaside town, where most Restaurants and Souvenirs shops are located along its sandy street.
For those not interested in shopping or snacking, there is a beach that offers access to the reef at Half Moon Bay. This Reef is alive with beautiful coral and exquisite marine life. Snorkeling Gear is for rent at this location for approx. $10us or you can bring your own if you want to explore the nearby reef.
The Island Tour then continues the trip over a spectacular mountain road to West Bay, where you find the most beautiful beach on the island (and perhaps in the Caribbean!). Here you spend the rest of your day relaxing in the sun or you can just sit at some of the nicest restaurants and bars the island has to offer, before heading back to your cruise ship.
